PayPal Debit Card

When you sign up for a PayPal Debit Card, you’ll get a digital card instantly. Use it online. Or add it to your phone’s mobile wallet for easy access.

If you’d like a physical card, you’ll need to request it. To request a physical card:

1. Open the PayPal app and tap your PayPal balance on the Home screen
2. Select your PayPal Debit Card
3. Tap Request a physical card

Here's how to activate your physical PayPal Debit Card through the PayPal website:

1. Go to PayPal.com/uk/activatecard
2. Log in to your account and enter the required information
3. Choose Activate Card

To activate your physical PayPal Debit Card in the app:

1. Tap your PayPal balance on the Home Screen
2. Select your PayPal Debit Card
3. Tap Activate Card

You can also activate your physical PayPal Debit Card by calling our 24-hour automated activation line and following the steps provided at 0800 358 7911.

We do not charge any fees for payments made using your PayPal Debit Card. In particular, we do not charge a cross-border fee nor a currency conversion fee for payments with your PayPal Debit Card. We do not charge any fees for a cash withdrawal, The ATM provider may charge a fee.

You can transfer money to your PayPal balance from a bank account or debit card.

Just open your app and check your PayPal balance. If you dont have enough money in your PayPal balance, we'll debit the outstanding amount to cover the transaction from your chosen linked bank account or third-party debit card. Then pay anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

To use your physical PayPal Debit Card at an ATM, simply use the card and the PIN you created when you requested the card. ATM cash withdrawals require you to have sufficient balance in your PayPal account to cover the amount you wish to withdraw. We do not charge any fees for a cash withdrawal. The ATM provider may charge a fee.
